Nafees Chaudhry is the founder of CNC. After completing his Bachelor’s of Commerce degree, majoring in Finance in 1997, Nafees joined Vancity Savings Credit Union, where he worked at the head office for a few years, before moving to Ethical Mutual Funds, joining the mutual fund valuation accounting team. At Ethical Mutual Funds, Nafees designed their North American RRSP Clone Equity Fund’s daily valuation financial model. Prior to this, he received his first accounting designation, Certified General Accountant and a few years later his second designation, Certified Management Accountant. Nafees also completed the Canadian Investment Security Course , received an Associate Certificate in Personal Financial Planning (BCIT with Hons) and the CGA Tax in-depth certification. As well in 2003 he received Coast Capital’s Savings’ Small Savings Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
He specializes in working with small to medium-sized businesses to meet all of their accounting, taxation and succession planning needs. He loves working beside and aiding small businesses, aiming to minimize their taxes and maximize the wealth of his clients. Nafees works on a one-to-one basis with small business owners, explaining to them various tax saving and business growth strategies. These sessions are invaluable for small business owners and set them up for success in their future endeavours. With his diverse background and more than 20 years of experience, Nafees works with numerous, unique industries, including retail, wholesale, real-estate construction, contractors, holding corporations, not-for-profit societies (NPO), as well as professional corporations.
Nafees writes articles for smallbusinessbc.ca, which is sponsored by the BC government for all entrepreneurs. He also speaks at seminars arranged by the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for small business clients and RBC internal advisory team.
Outside of the office, Nafees enjoys to play sports, including hockey, basketball, and cricket. He frequently travels with his wife and four kids.
Eric Bangel is the manager at CNC. A graduate of Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business (with a concentration in accounting), he went on to complete the CA School of Business Program and earn his designation as a Chartered Accountant (now CPA, CA).
Eric has been working in public practice accounting for over 8 years, with experience in personal and corporate taxation, corporate year-end work, review and audit engagements, NPO and registered charity filings, corporate budgeting and personal tax planning. He has a passion for providing accurate and timely accounting work for small businesses and invaluable tax advice for individuals in the community.
In his free time, Eric plays electric guitar and enjoys getting outdoors and going for a good hike or mountain bike ride
Shreya Motwani has been a staff accountant with CNC since January 2018. She is a fourth Year SFU Beedie School of Business student and is completing her Bachelor’s degree (BBA) with a concentration in Accounting. Shreya plans to pursue her CPA designation shortly after completing her post-secondary studies.
Shreya has experience working with corporate small business and personal tax clients. She manages clients’ needs from day to day, including payroll, bookkeeping and other tasks, while maintaining an organized flow of client information. Shreya focuses on building strong relationships with each client so that she can provide a personalized service that is tailored to their needs.
In her free time Shreya loves to attend yoga classes and try out new restaurants.
Taranjit Takhar joined the CNC team as a staff accountant in April of 2019. He earned his Bachelor’s degree (BBA) from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where he gained strong understanding of financial and managerial accounting, finance, and taxation. Taranjit has a background in customer service, which he developed during his time working in retail. He also has experience in personal taxation, which he gained during his time with H&R Block Canada.
Taranjit was part of the KPU Case Competition team at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. The team traveled to Toronto and secured a 1st place finish against many other schools from across Canada. With this experience, Taranjit brings strong understanding of complex business situations, and the correct process in which to tend to a business situation.
