Nafees Chaudhry is the founder of CNC. After completing his Bachelor’s of Commerce degree, majoring in Finance in 1997, Nafees joined Vancity Savings Credit Union, where he worked at the head office for a few years, before moving to Ethical Mutual Funds, joining the mutual fund valuation accounting team. At Ethical Mutual Funds, Nafees designed their North American RRSP Clone Equity Fund’s daily valuation financial model. Prior to this, he received his first accounting designation, Certified General Accountant and a few years later his second designation, Certified Management Accountant. Nafees also completed the Canadian Investment Security Course , received an Associate Certificate in Personal Financial Planning (BCIT with Hons) and the CGA Tax in-depth certification. As well in 2003 he received Coast Capital’s Savings’ Small Savings Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
He specializes in working with small to medium-sized businesses to meet all of their accounting, taxation and succession planning needs. He loves working beside and aiding small businesses, aiming to minimize their taxes and maximize the wealth of his clients. Nafees works on a one-to-one basis with small business owners, explaining to them various tax saving and business growth strategies. These sessions are invaluable for small business owners and set them up for success in their future endeavours. With his diverse background and more than 20 years of experience, Nafees works with numerous, unique industries, including retail, wholesale, real-estate construction, contractors, holding corporations, not-for-profit societies (NPO), as well as professional corporations.
Nafees writes articles for smallbusinessbc.ca, which is sponsored by the BC government for all entrepreneurs. He also speaks at seminars arranged by the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for small business clients and RBC internal advisory team.
Outside of the office, Nafees enjoys to play sports, including hockey, basketball, and cricket. He frequently travels with his wife and four kids.
Taran Kang joined the CNC team as a Senior Accountant in 2020. He graduated from the UBC Sauder School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Major) in 2016 and obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2018.
Prior to joining the CNC team, Taran worked in public practice for four years at a mid-size and Big 4 accounting firm. He has provided accounting, assurance, and taxation services to individuals and private and public corporations.
Yudi Fang joined CNC in 2019 as a Staff accountant. She completed her bachelor’s degree in business in 2012 and subsequently worked for four years with the Bank of China as a financial analyst. Yudi also has a post-degree diploma in accounting and spent time enrolled in the H&R Block tax program, both of which reinforced her knowledge in assurance, taxation and finance. She also plans to further develop her accounting knowledge and pursue her CPA designation in the near future.
Yudi is organized, detail orientated and focuses on assisting clients with their day to day bookkeeping, payroll and other accounting matters. In her spare time Yudi loves to play with her dog, go swimming, and spend time doing outdoor activities.
Coco Gao joined the CNC team as a bookkeeper & T1 preparer in 2021. After graduating from UBC Sauder Business School in 2018, Coco worked at a hospitality consulting firm as a junior accountant.
Coco has worked at local accounting firms as an account officer and has assisted small business clients in dealing with various accounting-related issues. Coco is a driven, meticulous worker with bookkeeping experience. She is involved in day to day small business accounting and bookkeeping, including the preparation of GST/PST payrolls and corporate taxes. She has experience in Sage 50 and QuickBooks. Coco firmly believes in the importance accounting plays in small businesses and passionately works to needs clients’ needs.
Coco completed the Canadian Securities Course in 2020, and she intends to accomplish her AICPA in the near future.
